Support our Retail and Dining Dollars staying in Springhill

Springhill already allows beer and low-volume wine in restaurants and retail stores like Walmart and Brookshires. “Beer and low wine” sales allows most beets and wine coolers but does not allow craft beers or traditional table wines. We’re losing a great deal of revenue by being ‘damp’. By expanding alcohol sales to allow b eer, wine and spirits, we can generate much more needed local tax revenues and jobs and give our citizens the ability to shop at home.

The additional revenue added to our local economy will also raise additional money to support law enforcement, schools, and road repair.

State law requires all 5 versions allowing alcohol sales must be included on the ballot, even if one or more versions of alcohol sales are already legal. Voters are required to vote on all 5 issues again to 1) keep existing alcohol sales legal and 2) expand to allow beer, wine, and spirits sales in local stores.

Please take a moment to cast your vote in favor of all 5 Springhill alcohol propositions.

Keep Our Springhill Restaurants Strong - Support Local Businesses

Janene Cole

We currently sell alcohol at Butler House Bistro, and I want to make sure the voters vote YES on Props 1-5 so we keep what we have and can continue to grow our local businesses.

I’d Rather See Springhill Keep the Revenue

Matthew Smith, Owner M&M Floral and RMS Construction, Springhill

People are going to buy the alcohol regardless, so I’d rather see Springhill keep the tax money. I’d like to be able to shop for all of my food and beverages in one trip and not have to make a separate trip a few miles down to Cullen.

Minden-Springhill - Rivalries are for Sports Not Business

Jan Hearnsberger, Owner Express Tax Title & License, Springhill

When it comes to jobs and local tax revenues, we should support those businesses that can already sell alcohol and vote to allow other businesses like Walmart and Brookshires to be able to sell beer, wine, and spirits. It gives all our citizens and those who come here to shop the option of doing all their shopping in Springhill or Minden and keeping the tax revenue and jobs local.
